Photography: Kristina Dam Studio
Danish product and furniture designer studio, Kristina Dam, launches a new collection. Inspired by bauhaus aesthetics, the collection can be described as strict, simple and graphic—elements expressed both in her illustrations and product design.
Expanding from her usual smaller product designs, Dam has, for this season, created larger furniture, such as a daybed, a mirror with hanging options, a smaller trolly, a storage box, two sculptures, and a series of new prints, bowls and candlesticks. The whole collection is designed by Kristina herself, and the products are made from robust and honest materials such as oak, steel, marble and mirror.
Educated as a graphic designer at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Dam worked several years as a graphic designer before opening Kristina Dam Studio in 2012—a studio that has skyrocketed ever since. Her work, as she describes it herself, lies between art and interior, structured with architectural lines and Scandinavian simplicity.
