The Norwegian Presence exhibition is yet again back on the Salone del Mobile exhibition schedule, and with it a strong focus on togetherness and community.

Just like last year, the exhibition is a comprehensive collaboration between design institutions Klubben, Norwegian Crafts and DOGA (Design and Architecture Norway). Centered around the idea of fellesskap (Togetherness), the exhibition seeks to convey the collaborative design culture that has come to define the Norwegian design community. Furthermore, Norwegian Presence sets out to celebrate every element of Norway’s making community, showcasing the craft artists blending ancient making traditions with new technology to explore new methods and material combinations.

«Its really inspiring for us. When we are a part of an exhibition like this it makes us want to do more and push ourselves to be better and also [push] Norway and Norwegian design out into the world.» — Ane Domaas, part of design duo Domaas/Høgh stated in an interview promoting the exhibition.

For the first time in Norwegian Presence’s Salone del Mobile career, the exhibition takes place in Zona Tortona. As one of the biggest Norwegian design exhibitions so far, it will feature furniture, textiles, lighting, sculpture, tableware and domestic accessories; small objects and installations that fill the room; long-standing design icons and new ideas yet to be commercially produced. The exhibition will also highlight some of the visionary manufacturers, both old and new, who are ultimately responsible for the survival and success of Norway’s design culture.
